Day#190: What Does It Take To Get On Your Noah’s Ark?

Hip Hop Affirmation of the Day#190

“I AM THE ONE, NEO IS MY SON; PEOPLE I’M FROM THE BOTTOM JUST LIKE YOU; IF YOU AIN’T FROM THE BOTTOM, NO OFFENSE, BUT YOU ARE NOT WHO I WRITE TO. I’M THE UNDERDOG’S UNDERDOG, I LOVE THE ODDS.” ~Joell Ortiz  (125 part 4 -Finale)

Affirmation of the Day: I am clear on who I serve

Let’s face it, as much as we want to save the whole world, we have to focus on a specific area so we can have the most impact.  While we are doing this we have to decipher who is going to make it onto our Noah’s Ark.  Last week I was able to visit with my man Vaughn at UCONN and he had this great way of distinguishing who is on his team.  He has two criteria:

  1. You have to want to be great:  If you are looking to sit back and relax based on what you’ve done; you will not be part of this team.
  2. You have to be a player: This goes back to his athlete days.  You have to take risk and you have to be willing to get your hands dirty.

Question of the Day: What’s your criteria for the folks you let on your team?

Action of the Day: If you don’t have criteria, set them.  “If you want to soar like an eagle then stop hanging out with turkeys”

Run the point from where you are, with what you have!

Mike Bruny
